World Wide Knit In Public Day

Starring Mr. Franklin Habit

The Knitting Nest will celebrate their grand re-opening in the new SoCo location with a visit from Franklin and Alex's Lemonade Stand

There will be more news to follow as soon as we get some things finalized. Anyone interested in another lace class that couldn't take the first one? Let me know by email please if you are or if you want to take it again. I WOULD love to give Franklin some time to just hang out and actually KNIT with folks and he has graciously offered to help us redecorate the new spot since we will be leaving our mural of Dolores here for the next tennant.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
I am also VERY excited about the Alex's Lemonade Stand. My goal for the store from the very beginning was to help with some charities and this is our first time to work with a Nationwide charity - they are so organized I have already been contacted by three different people since we registered the date for the Lemonade stand! They have one person whose sole job is publicity so this may turn into a huge event - and that would be so awesome! If you'd like to help with that be sure and let me know - we will need people to pour lemonade and run back and forth making more. Once we get moved I will be taking donations of frozen lemonade for a couple of weeks to help us cut down on our costs so that every penny can actually go to help find a cure for cancer.

And we are working (I say we, it's really mostly Stephanie's wonderful talents!) on a new blog called Knitting Nest News that will chronicle the move to the new place and after we get settled it will be more store oriented. No bragging about Mr. Wonderful or lusting after Tom Hanks on that blog - you'll have to stay tuned to this page for that stuff. We're not quite ready to show it off yet - Hurry Steph! Camping-schmamping, get that bunting done!

JUST KIDDING!!!

Thank You, Mr. Wonderful

For 29 wonderful years!
29 Roses & 29 Tulips
Thank You for two wonderful kids who are finally finding their way all by themselves.
Thank You for putting up with my obsessions with James Taylor and Tom Hanks.
Thank You for moving up here, away from your family, your friends and the business that you worked so hard to build just so I could do what I wanted to do.
Thank You for giving in and letting me buy Hank (and Gracie!)
And thank you for being my very best friend - especially this last year, when things have been so terribly hard without my Mom.

Happy Anniversary!
